1,700-year-old venue to host the 3rd Turkish Coffee Championships

The SCAE's Turkish chapter is organising the 3rd Turkish Coffee Championships, to be held February 19-21 during the Kahve Festivali (Coffee Festival), inside the 1,700-year-old Underground Cistern Binbirdirek (also known as the 1001 Cistern), located in the Old City of Istanbul (Sultanahmet), National Coordinator Serif Basaran reports.

The Turkish Barista Championship is scheduled for Friday, February 19, with the semi-final round set to yield six finalists at the end of a day of competition. The finals, where the finalists vie to become the country's top barista, will take place on the next day, Saturday, February 20.

The Turkish Latte Art Championship also is set to take place on Saturday, February 20.

Sunday, February 21 has been set aside for the Turkish Coffee in Good Spirits Championship, the Turkish Cup Tasting Championship and the famous Turkish Coffee Championship.
