Marta Piigli brings World Coffee in Good Spirits Championship back to Estonia

Estonian barista Marta Piigli took the World Coffee in Good Spirits Championship title by a narrow margin at the SCAE’s Wonderful Coffee Cologne event in late June, bringing the title back to her country for a second time.

In the Championship, where 23 contestants vied to be the best in the world in Irish coffee and alcoholic coffee beverage preparation, Piigli amassed 342 points from the judges, just two points ahead of British contestant Edmund Buston. Francesco Corona of Italy came third with 301 points. (Pictured, left to right, are winners Edmund Buston, Marta Piigli and Francesco Corona).

Denmark’s Morten Vestenaa was in fourth place, with Sandra Daniela Stucki of Switzerland fifth and Germany’s Arno Schmeil sixth in the final round.
