UK-based Costa Coffee in late March opened its 1,000th outlet in Moscow’s Pushkin Square, marking the chain’s first entry into the Russian market. The new store is the first to be opened with local partner and restaurant chain Rosinter, under an agreement that will see 200 Costa outlets open in the country in the next five years, reports said.
Rosinter plans to convert 11 of its Moka Loka coffee shops to the Costa brand, and the chain will begin by concentrating on outlets in Moscow and St Petersburg, according to the company.
Costa, which is expected to open its 700th UK outlet in April, already has about 300 units in 22 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
