Tchibo to close 33 of its stores

6th February 2008
German roaster and consumer products retailer Tchibo in early February said it was to close 33 of its 73 UK outlets to concentrate on larger stores, according to local reports.
Tchibo, which has over 1,000 company-owned outlets internationally, said that the move is part of a larger reorganisation that will see the roasting group expand its concession business in supermarkets as well.
The outlets set for closure are based outside of the Greater London area, mostly in the Midlands, north and the southeast, the reports said.
